Attention turns at the beginning of April
to the important industry showcase that is Glassex. The show
this year encompasses GP&T (Glass Processing and
Technology), and again Windows Active is staging a major
presence at the show. SInce Active Magazines was formed back in
2004, the company has exhibited at the industry’s leading
promotional event. Steve Gravestock, Sales Director of Active
Magazines, is all too aware of its importance: “Glassex
helped us launch Windows Active, and since then we have seen
the show as an essential part of our promotional activity. It
enables us to engage with readers and advertisers which is
invaluable to our business.”
From stand B66 in Hall 4 from the 8th
to 10th of April 2008, the team from
Active Magazines will be able to present the benefits of it
stable of magazines, namely Windows Active, Conservatories
Active, Glass Active. Retail Windows Active and Housing Active.
Despite having attended over10 shows as a team, the staff from
Windows Active remain just as enthusiastic as at the first show
they exhibited at: “Glassex has become a very important
event for the window industry. The Windows Active are again
very excited at the prospect of meeting readers and
advertisers. This year’s event is made eve more
interesting by the decision to drop the Sunday and hold the
exhibition on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday”: adds
Steve.
2008 sets to be a challenging year for
those involved in the fenestration sector. It is more important
than ever for installation companies to push the benefits of
having new windows, doors or even a conservatory. Windows
Active realises it has a responsibility to its readers to help
them answer householders desires and needs. In order to help
installers stay one step ahead, Windows Active will be
producing ‘Retail WIndows Active’. This supplement
will target installers and fabricator/installer businesses,
bringing them information, ideas and products specifically
targeted at the retail sector.
John Cowie, Editorial Director of Windows
Active, commented: “It is important for us to assist our
readers during this challenging period. The launch of
‘Retail Windows Active’ will deliver an editorial
content specifically designed to assist in retail
sales.”
In another new initiative, the launch of
the Glass Active website is being followed up by a printed
version as an in-bound supplement in the March issue of Windows
Active. Glass Active will target over 1,000 named individuals
in the glazing sector, with these readers being added to the
existing WIndows Active circulation for that month. 780 copies
will be sent to glazing contractors/commercial glazing firms
and 273 to glass processors/glass manufacturers and IG unit
manufacturers. These readers are in addition to existing
readers of Windows Active who already engage in commercial
glazing and sealed unit manufacture. Again John Cowie is
excited by this new project: “The response to Glass
Active has surpassed our expectations and I believe the printed
product will help us deliver a complete magazine offering to
the fenestration sector.”
